The Small World I Wanted to Protect
Obtainability:Â Limited to âPax Romanaâs Sweetheartâ event shop. This is event bonus memoria and should be kept in case of a rerun.
MLB Effect:Â Attack Up [15%] & Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%]
Effect Definitions:
Attack Up increases the equipped characterâs base stats, meaning that its effects are calculated before buffs/debuffs are considered. The effect caps at 100%.
Accele MP Gain Up will increase the amount of MP gained by using Accele discs.
TLDR:Â A common memoria to buy from event shops, but luckily itâs a good combination of effects. This memoria will be useful in magia teams, provided you plan on using Accele discs.
Review: Accele MP Gain Up and Attack Up are a good combination. Attack Up can be used whenever-- you almost always want to have it, as itâs the best offensive buff in the game. The only times you donât want to have it are when youâre overcapping on it, but you probably donât need to worry about that if youâre considering using a memoria like this. Accele MP Gain Up will help increase your MP when using Accele discs, allowing you to reach Magia/Doppel faster, and when you do, that Attack Up will help make the Magia/Doppel hit harder. A fairly useful combo!
This is a nice freebie memo that gives both Attack Up and Accele MP Gain Up, but there are several memoria in the game like it now, and Iâm not just talking in general. Hereâs a short list of just three-star memoria that strike similarities:
(Limited 3*) âThe Small World I Wanted to Protectâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Attack Up [15%]
(Limited 3*) âCurrently on a Hostile Inspectionâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Attack Up [15%]Â Â
(Limited 3*) âNever Allow Will to Be Erasedâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Attack Up [15%]
(Limited 3*) âSomething to Rememberâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Attack Up [15%]
(Limited 3*) âPrided Haregiâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Magia Damage Up [10%]
Most of these (âHostile Inspection,â âNever Allow Will to be Erased, âand âSomething to Rememberâ) are event shop memoria. Meanwhile, âPrided Haregi,â is only available in the limited gacha.
Of course, there are four-star examples of Accele MP Gain Up + an Offensive Effect too. Hereâs another compilation:Â
(Limited 4*) âWaiting for the Momentâ Accele MP Gain Up [20%] & Damage Increase [20%]
(Limited 4*) âRakshasi of Salvationâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Forest Attribute Attack Up [15%]
(Limited 4*) âThe Rena I Hateâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & MP Gain Up [10%] & Â Attack Up [20%]
(Limited 4*) âAn Odd Coincidenceâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Magia Damage Up [15%] Â
(Limited 4*) âGoodbye Fableâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Magia Damage Up [15%]
(4*) âA Moment of Peaceâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Status Ailment Resistance Down (Self) [10%] & Magia Damage Up [30%]
Notably, all of these four-star memoria (except for the first one) will offer the same amount of Accele MP Gain Up as âThe Small Worldâ does. The biggest differences are the secondary effect and how much passive ATK stats they give. That means equipping âThe Small Worldâ can give you the same mp gain with a loss in offensive potential. However, itâs also worth pointing out that if one of the above memoria isnât max-awakened then âThe Small Worldâ might actually be better for you overall in comparison, as it comes max-awakened and max-leveled for free!
Overall a good event shop memoria. This should be useful wherever you need a magia team-- just remember that the Accele MP Gain Up only applies to Accele discs and not to overall MP gained. That means this is best used on characters who plan on using Accele Discs.

Damn, that third challenge was rough lmao. I def feel like I earned that ticket!
I tried a few times with my Light Trio, but was really struggling with Minou. And you know why? I just looked it up. My foolish ass thought that Madoka & Irohaâs Magia/Doppel gave 2x Negate Status Ailments. Nope. Itâs just 2x Anti-Debuff. Iâm so foolish!
Anyways.
Minou was a problem, because sheâd put Dazzle and Charm on a character and it lasts for 5 - 10 turns. The issue isnât that she was killing me, but it was preventing me from fighting Isabeau with all my stuff available!Â
To fix this, I added Mikage to my team. In retrospect I think I should have equipped her personal instead of the mp/def memoria. I had to equip a bunch of Anti-Curse and Anti-Magia Seal so that Isabeau wouldnât screw me over, but it meant that I was struggling for MP more than usual. Having another source of accele draw would have helped with that. But in the end it worked, so /shrug
Mikageâs Magia is single-target, so that allowed me to murder Minou with little fuss and no annoying Guardians from her supports. Mikage also was useful in that she has charm on her connect-- it wonât affect Minou, Lapin, or Corbeau, but it will affect the nameless magical girls with them, which is great.Â
By the time Isabeau popped up, I spent Mikageâs Doppel, Sayukiâs Doppel, then Madoka & Irohaâs. Unfortunately Isabeau murdered Sayuki that round, but I was able to get off Madokaâs doppel, another Mikage magia, and then two more Madoka & Iroha doppels and that did the job.
I really enjoyed this one. It felt like a puzzle that took some time to solve, and I like that it had me busting out some memoria that I otherwise never use.Â
If youâre struggling, I def recommend Anti-Curse and Anti-Magia Seal memoria:Â
*a great option only if itâs max awakened
*this one needs to be max awakened for full coverage
*interestingly, this is prob the best option as it gives both 20% Attack Up (very high for a three-star) and also Magia Seal.
-
These three all offer Anti-Magia Seal. Unfortunately the Jun memoria only gives 100% when max awakened (itâs otherwise 65%). This is a huge problem because the Magia Seal that Isabeau inflicts lasts infinite turns.
Anti-Curse memoria shouldnât be hard to find.
*This one is prob best for mp gain, but you lose out on damaging effects
*This one is a worse version of my bible
*One of the better ones to equip
*Probably the best one to equip
*itâs not bad. It gets the job done.
*This one will do in a pinch, but it needs to be max awakened for full coverage.
-
The biggest problem here imo is that you lose out on mp gain and damage when you equip a passive anti-curse and a passive anti-magia seal.Â
I feel like having very good magia units is key here-- and by very good, I mean three slots+ and full Spirit Enhancement filled out. I honestly donât know how a person who only has f2p uncapped units could do this. I donât think you can use a Magia Stall for this one. Iâd love to know if someone was able to though!
Anyways, this was a fun one. I actually really liked that single-target magia was so strong here-- Iâd like to see more battles where you want to carefully kill one enemy and not all of them at once.

The new Magia Record event style goes a long way towards encouraging players to use more of their roster, rather than âsteamroll opponents with Ashley, Mami or Mokyuâ or âstall opponents with Madoka or Umika.â That said, I do feel like it shows a flaw in how the game is structured.
Namely, the lack of a real reason to use lower-rarity units instead of âyou have to because I say so.â
In Magia Recordâs sister game, FGO, there is a wide variety of playable servants with different rarities, and unless their kit is absolute trash like Nightingale or Altria Lily youâre going to have an opportunity to use them, a fight where they shine. This is true even of the less âmurder you to death in as few turns as possibleâ servants.
Arash is a 1* who has a pretty strong AoE Noble Phantasm that also kills him, so he gets politely out of the way for a better damage dealer to take his place.
Euryale is a 3* whose Noble Phantasm damage doubles against male targets, to the point of outclassing many 5*s, and is worth taking to fights throughout the game despite her low rarity.
Mash is a 4*, but sheâs still one of the best tanks in the game (ignoring her shitty Cosmos in the Lostbelt rework) and a good addition to pretty much any team that isnât âbring two SkaĂ°is and murder everything.â
Siegfried is a pretty mediocre 3* Saber - until you point him at a dragon at which point he does pretty great damage.
Meanwhile there isnât really a nice equivalent in Magia Record? For even using a non-natural 4* to be worth it they either have to have a really sweet connect or Magia effect to make up for their worse stats, or have lots of SE which is a really costly system. The only really accessible low-rarity strat I can think of off the top of my head is âbring only Tsuruno and get her to Magia once, evade memes will take care of the rest.â
What Iâm trying to say is that we need more niche low-rarity units that donât fall into the âneed to play protect the smol with a bunch of healersâ pitfall and work well with no or low SE. I feel like the introduction of a trait system might go a long way in this respect: give a 3* hacker girl mediocre stats but an active personal memoria that makes her deal double Magia damage against [Artificial] enemies and sheâd get a lot of use against the more annoying Uwasa.

Those Feathers From Before
Obtainability: Limited to the âA New Beginningâ event.
Effect: Accele MP Up [15%] / Evade Chance [20%]
TLDR: This is one of the better passive Evade Chance memoria currently in the game, and has long-term potential for Ranked Mirrors.
Thoughts: âThose Feathers From Beforeâ is probably the best passive evade memoria in the game right now, though that isnât saying too much. It has better stats than the only other 3* passive evade memoria: âThe Struggle Against Fateâ which also has Evade Chance at 20% (Real quick: evade chance does not stack, so there is no point to equipping both of these memoria on the same unit). In addition to having better stats, âThose Feathers From Beforeâ has a secondary effect in Accele MP Up.Â
Evade chance doesnât tend to be useful for PVE, and if you are looking to protect your units, memoria with defense up/ reduce damage might be better, such as:
âThe Power to Protectâ Defense Up [30%] / Defense Up When Near Fainting [40%] Â / Reduce Damage [15%]
âThe Mao Family Is As Rowdy As Everâ Defense Up [30%] / Status Ailment Resistance Up [30%]
âA Wild Welcome in the Sewerâ Defense Up [30%] / Negate Stun
âBlessed Wind Returnsâ Defense Up [22.5%] / Reduce Damage [15%]
Evade Chance is most powerful when using in Mirrors. Not only will it annoy your opponent, but if the AI in Mirrors believes that one of your units has died (either through Evade or Reduce Damage), it will move onto a different character instead. When considering Ranked Mirrors, leaving this memoria on your characters for a defense team can also make battles drag on longer than they should, causing your opponents to lose points.
However, keep in mind that Evade can be negated through specific Negate Evade memoria or even through status ailments. Additionally, at a 20% chance, this memoria isnât guaranteed to proc when you need it, and its low stats as a 3* means trading off better stats for a chance at a random proc.
One more thing to keep in mind is the âAccele MP Upâ portion. Now, currently on EN, Mirrors doesnât prioritize magia teams. Blast is king. However, eventually on JP the rules for ranked will change enough that using magia will be more effective than blast teams.
So currently, the Accele MP Up effect isnât useful for Mirrors, but it will be in the future. This makes this memoria good to invest in for both its higher passive stats, and for future potential.
Lastly, on the Accele MP Up effect itself. 15% is respectable, but there are other memoria in the game that can offer a higher percentage or better passive stats. These include:
âThe Third Magical Girlâ Accele MP Up [20%] / Damage After Using Charge Up [15%]
âThe World is Full of Wishesâ Accele MP Up [17.5%] / Status Ailment Resistance UP [30%]
âKeep it Secret!â Accele MP Up [17.5%]
âBattle in Syncâ Accele MP Up [17.5%]
âTime for a Treasure Huntâ Accele MP Up [15%] / Blast Damage Up [30%] / Negate Charm [100%]
âFood Stall Paradiseâ Accele MP Up [15%] / Blast Damage Up [30%] / Negate Bind [100%]
âCloaked in Guiltâ Negate Skill Seal / Accele MP Up [15%]
Overall, this memoria is better than one might think it can be at first glance.

Until Late Tonight...?
Obtainability: This is a limited memoria that can be purchased during the â2000 Days Since Releaseâ Campaign.
MLB Effect:Â HP Restore [35%] (Self) & Defense Up [37.5%] (Self / 3 Turns)
Effect Definitions:
HP Restore will instantly restore health to the character upon activating the effect.
Defense Up increases the targetâs base defense stats. Defense Up is generally worse than Damage Cut.
TLDR: This memoria is Enhancement Fodder for most players. It can see use in Magia Stall strategies but otherwise is outclassed by more offensive gameplay.
Review:Â âUntil Late Tonightâ has a few possible uses but is largely forgettable. Itâs a defensive memoria in a game that doesnât reward defensive strategies-- you are almost always better off going with more offense than defense in this game.
With that said, it gives a high amount of Defense up for three turns. This actually puts it in the same range as several limited and unlimited memoria:
(3*) âThe Strongest, Even at Basketballâ Defense Up [60%] & Status Ailment Resistance Up [50%] (Self / 1 Turn)
(Limited Gacha 4*) âEqual Destruction to Allâ Defense Up [52.5%] & Attack Up [35%] & Provoke [100%] (Self / 1 Turn) Â
(Limited Gacha 4*) âEven Games Are Seriousâ Defense Up [52.5%] (Self / 1 Turn) & Attack Down [65%] (One / 1 Turn)
(3*) âShe'll Definitely Be Happyâ Defense Up [52.5%] & Attack Up [40%] (Self / 1 Turn)
(Limited Gacha 3*) âUnexpected Real Intentionsâ Defense Up [45%] (Self / 1 Turn) & Attack Up [30%]
(2*) âClosely Watched Heartâ Defense Up [45%] (Self / 1 Turn)
(Limited Welfare 4*) âUntil Late Tonightâ Defense Up [37.5%] (Self / 3 Turns) & HP Restore [35%] (Self)
(Limited Gacha 4*) âThe Wind Rising Before The Resolveâ Defense Up [37.5%] & Attack Up [30%] & Critical Hit [30%] (Self / 3 Turns)
(4*) âI Won't Stray From This Pathâ Defense Up [37.5%] & Attack Up [30%] (Self / 3 Turns)
(4*) âSurvival Date on a Deserted Islandâ Defense Up [37.5%] & Anti-Debuff [2 Debuffs] & Attack Up [30%] (Self / 3 Turns)
Youâll note that the only memoria that have higher Defense Up all last for one turn or have some features that make them less desirable to use outside of special circumstances. This makes this memoria useful at least for purely defensive purposes-- you donât need to worry about lower stats like you would with the three-star options and the fact that it will last for three turns means your equipped unit can stay safer for longer.
When comparing effects, Defense Up isnât generally as good as Damage Cut for a characterâs protection, but still-- 37.% Defense Up can still help a character survive and itâs better than nothing.
The HP Restore on this memoria is useful, but note that it is different from something like Regenerate HP. The HP Restore will apply to your character right away, while Regenerate HP will apply after the enemyâs turn is over. This can be good or wasteful. It means that this is a good âoh-shitâ memoria to press if a character is in danger of dying, but it also means that youâll waste the HP Restore if youâre trying to take preventative measures.
Because of how defensive this memoria is, itâs best used on Tanks and in Magia Stall Teams. Itâs cooldown is too long to be of use in areas like Mirrors or Ranking and it offers nothing helpful for places like Kimochi.
The last thing to note would be that there is another memoria in the game that is exactly the same as this one:
(Limited Welfare 4*) âHolding Hands to Tomorrowâ Defense Up [37.5%] (Self / 3 Turns) & HP Restore [35%] (Self)
âHolding Hands to Tomorrowâ is another welfare memoria given to the playerbase for Madokaâs Birthday October 2022, meaning players who have âUntil Late Tonightâ are also going to have that one as well. What this means for new players and some free-to-play players is that they now have two options for a defensive memoria to use, but for everyone else it means they have two next-to-worthless memoria that do the same thing.
If you already have a lot of really good memoria and donât need to rely on defensive strategies such as Magia Stall, you can treat âUntil Late Tonightâ as Enhancement Fodder. However if you do struggle or if youâre just starting out, keep this memoria around.

An Odd Coincidence
Obtainability:Â Limited to completing the âMirage of Alexandriaâ event story quests.
MLB Effect:Â Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Magia Damage Up [15%]
Effect Definitions:
Accele MP Gain Up will increase the amount of MP gained by using Accele discs.
Magia Damage Up increases the damage done by a Magia or a Doppel.
TLDR:Â âAn Odd Coincidenceâ is extremely good, especially for a free event reward-- itâll be an easy go-to for Magia teams and has very competitive percentages when compared to other memoria in the game, and additionally even has excellent passive stats!
Review:Â âAn Odd Coincidenceâ is similar to another event reward memoria in the game âGoodbye Fableâ. Because of these similarities, the reviews will be largely copy + pasted. If you have both memoria, âGoodbye Fableâ is better to use thanks to its better ATK stats, though âAn Odd Coincidenceâ has fairly decent ATK stats as well.
âAn Odd Coincidenceâ is a massive boon for Free-to-Play players and Dolphins alike-- perhaps even some diminutive Whales will find this memoria to be a massive relief to own. This is because of how good the two effects work with each other, as Accele MP Gain Up will help you gain MP, and then Magia Damage Up will increase your damage when you spend that MP.Â
Not only do the effects synergize perfectly well, but theyâre pretty competitive when compared to other memoria! Letâs compare it to other Accele MP Gain Up memoria in the game:
(Limited Gacha 4*) âShouldering Everybody's Hopeâ Accele MP Gain Up [20%] & Blast Damage Up [35%] & Charged Attack Damage Up [15%] & Status Ailment Resistance Up [30%] Â
(Limited Gacha 4*) âWaiting for the Momentâ Accele MP Gain Up [20%] & Damage Increase [20%]
(Limited Welfare 4*) âAlways Thinking of Youâ Accele MP Gain Up [20%] & Burn on Attack [30%] (2 Turns)
(Limited Gacha 4*) âThe Rena I Hateâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & MP Gain Up [10%] & Â Attack Up [20%]
(Limited Gacha 4*) âYou Can Wear Any Outfit You Wantâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Defense Up [30%] & MP Gain Up [10%]
(Limited Welfare 4*) âAn Odd Coincidenceâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Magia Damage Up [15%] Â
(Limited Welfare 4*) âGoodbye Fableâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Magia Damage Up [15%]
(4*) âA Moment of Peaceâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Magia Damage Up [30%] & Status Ailment Resistance Down (Self) [10%]
(4*) âBecause the World Is Full of Wishesâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Status Ailment Resistance Up [30%]
(Limited Welfare 3*) âCurrently on a Hostile Inspectionâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Attack Up [15%] Â
(Limited Gacha 3*) âBe My Servantâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Anti-Bind [100%]
(Limited Gacha 3*) âNever Allow Will to Be Erasedâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Attack Up [15%]
(Limited Welfare 3*) âSomething to Rememberâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Attack Up [15%]
Several limited memoria have more Accele MP Gain Up, but âAn Odd Coincidenceâ otherwise matches with many unlimited memoria in the game-- in fact, it even has more percentage to offer than some limited ones. But how about its Magia Damage Up?
(4*) âA Moment of Peaceâ Magia Damage Up [30%] & Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Status Ailment Resistance Down (Self) [10%] Â
(4*) âHere With Youâ Magia Damage Up [25%]
(4*) âThe Invincible Snacks Generalâ Magia Damage Up [20%] & Anti-Magia Seal [100%]
(Limited Welfare 4*) âAn Odd Coincidenceâ Magia Damage Up [15%] & Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%]
(Limited Welfare 4*) âGoodbye Fableâ Magia Damage Up [15%] & Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%]
(Limited Welfare 4*) âThe 2nd Christmas Carolâ Magia Damage Up [12.5%] Blast Damage Cut [15%]
(Limited Gacha 4*) âMiracle Heroinesâ Magia Damage Up [12.5%] & Attack Up [25%]
(Limited Welfare 4*) âA Christmas Miracleâ Magia Damage Up [12.5%] & Magia Damage Cut [20%]
(4*) âI Can Make a Serious Face Too, You Knowâ Magia Damage Up [12.5%] & Regenerate HP [6%]
Pretty damn good as well! In fact, it beats out many sources of unlimited Magia Damage Up, only surpassed by three currently in the game.
To put it more plainly, if you donât have âHere With Youâ, âThe Invincible Snacks Generalâ, or âA Moment of Peaceâ; then the memoria âAn Odd Coincidenceâ is going to be the highest passive source of Magia Damage Up available for you.
Thatâs pretty good-- but wait, thereâs more! The stats on this memoria are pretty excellent at 2,145 ATK. While there is no generic Attack Up/Damage Increase/Damage Up effect, the stats slightly make up for it-- this makes the memoria extremely good for new players as well, since they can easily pop it on a character if they have nothing better to use.
It goes without saying that this memoria will be good on Magia teams. Ideally youâll place this on a character who you plan on using Magia often, and who will take the most advantage of that Accele MP Gain Up. Accele Gorillas or characters with two Accele disks are preferable here.
Another thing to keep in mind is that using this memoria means sacrificing one passive that could have been used for a more generic damage effect. Sometimes its better to use generic damage-increasing effects like Attack Up/Damage Up/Damage Increase as passives and Magia Damage Up as an active, just because the generic ones apply all the time and the Magia one only applies during Magia-- and using Magia Damage Up as an active memoria instead.
However, this can be waived if you plan on using Magia often or are going to be capping on some of those generic damage effects through other sources, such as Connects, other Magia, Doppels, ect. Of course âAn Odd Coincidenceâ can also be used if you just donât have a lot of good memoria on you in the first place too.
So overall? A shockingly really great memoria given to the playerbase for free. Make sure you finish the event in time to get this excellent passive!

If You Want to Go to Sleep...
Obtainability:Â This is a limited memoria that can be purchased during the â2000 Days Since Releaseâ Campaign.
MLB Effect:Â Defense Up [30%] & Status Ailment Resistance Up [30%]
Effect Definitions:
Defense Up increases the targetâs base defense stats. Defense Up is generally worse than Damage Cut.
Status Ailment Resistance Up will decrease the chance of the equipped target to be afflicted by a Status Ailment. Even at 100%, it is still possible for a character to be hit by a Status Ailment. This effect will stack.
TLDR:Â âIf You Want to Go to Sleepâ is a defensive memoria in a game that doesnât really reward defensive gameplay-- however it might be helpful in Magia Stall teams and perhaps in Ranked Mirrors if youâre really struggling for defensive memoria. For most players though, this belongs either in the Memoria Vault Jail or as straight up Enhancement Fodder.
Review:Â âIf You Want to Go to Sleepâ is a decent free memoria. Most players wonât find this one to be that helpful, but it has some uses for new players and some free-to-play players. Itâs a defensive memoria that combines the protective Defense Up effect with the preventative Status Ailment Resistance Up.
Now, Magia Record is not a game that prioritizes defense-- youâre almost always better going on the offensive and using buffs like Attack Up or Damage Increase because you can either waste ten turns protecting your team or finish a battle in one turn with a decisive and powerful blow.Â
However there are circumstances where this isnât possible. For example, if youâre a new player and/or free-to-play player, you may be considering Magia Stall teams for battles such as the Hundred Evils, where defensive memoria help âstallâ your fights as you build up Magia/Doppels to kill the enemy with. (You can read more about the Magia Stall team strategy here). Effects like MP Gain Up and Accele MP Gain Up are important for this strategy to help build up MP, but so can Defense Up/Damage Cut. If you go this route, just make sure youâre not only equipping your characters with defensives-- they need offensives/mp too so that they can eventually kill their targets.
One last thing to note-- Status Ailment Resistance Up can be better on a tank sometimes than a regular damage dealer. This is because tanks can easily be destroyed by Ailments such as Curse or Burn. These status ailments are percentage-based, not HP-based, so they can chew through high HP like nothing else. Additionally tanks will struggle to actually defend their teams if theyâre tied up in Binds, Charms, or Stuns. If you go the Magia Stall route, carefully consider who gets what memoria.
There are several memoria in the game that can do what âIf You Want to Go to Sleepâ does but better-- these range from easily acquired event rewards to limited memoria. A middle ground would be:
(4*) âHand-Waving Happinessâ Status Ailment Resistance Up [35%] & Defense Up [45%]
(4*) âThe Power to Protect Who You Loveâ Defense Up [30%] & Damage Cut [15%] & Defense Up When At Critical Health [40%]
(4*) âEveryday Overflowing with Prideâ Defense Up [37.5%] & Attack Up [25%]
âHand-Waving Happinessâ is an unlimited gacha memoria, so it will require multiple copies to max awaken and then investment to level it up. However, itâs the superior version of âIf You Want to Go to Sleepâ, outclassing it in both effect percentages and also in its passive stats. âThe Power to Protect Who You Loveâ is still a good defensive choice if you have it max-awakened. It adds extra protectiveness through the addition of Damage Cut and extra Defense Up if the tank should enter Critical Health. âEveryday Overflowing with Prideâ is an excellent choice for a solid offensive and defensive memoria all in one.Â
As for welfare comparisons, you have the Jun/Mitsune memoria:
(Limited Welfare 4*) âThe Great Escapeâ Defense Up [37.5%] & Anti-Charm [100%] & Anti-Poison [100%]
This is an event welfare memoria that players received upon defeating the Girls in the Hood event. It has advantages and disadvantages over âIf You Want to Go to Sleepâ. Notably it has higher Defense Up and it swaps out Status Ailment Resistance Up for the more direct Anti-Charm and Anti-Poison. Note that you can still get hit with a Status Ailment, even if you have 100% Status Ailment Resistance Up, so âThe Great Escapeâ is superior to use if you know for certain that you will only be facing Poison or Charm in the upcoming fight.
As for limited memoria, your option is:
(Limited Gacha 4*) âWatching Over a Small First Dream of the Yearâ Defense Up [37.5%] & Damage Increase [15%] & Attack Up [20%]
âWatching Over a Small First Dream of the Yearâ is quite frankly insane in how good it is as a memoria. It offers a high amount of Defense Up and a high amount of offensive capability between both its Damage Increase and Attack Up. It absolutely outclasses âIf You Want to Go to Sleepâ but that should be expected when comparing a limited memoria to a free welfare one.
These following limited memoria combine Defense Up with MP Gain Up of some kind:
(Limited Gacha 4*) âYou Can Wear Any Outfit You Wantâ Defense Up [30%] & MP Gain Up [10%] & Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%]
(Limited Gacha 4*) âBeyond the Wavesâ Defense Up [30%] & MP Gain Up [10%] & Damage Cut [25%]
(Limited Gacha 4*) âInside the Heart Even When Coldâ Defense Up [45%] & MP Gain Up [12.5%]
This is arguably much better than Status Ailment Resistance Up, as even tanks will want MP gain to help better support their team through Doppels or Magia. Additionally, this can make it better for Ranked Mirrors, where Magia/Doppels are king.Â
Hopefully these comparisons help explain the capabilities of âIf You Want to Go to Sleep.â Itâs a decent for a free memoria but it can be outclassed by other unlimited memoria (and definitely by limited ones). However, for players who donât have many memoria on hand or for players who are using Magia Stall strategies, this can be a helpful freebie that can assist in any Hundred Evils Challenges.
Lastly, there is one other possible use for this memoria-- Mirrors. One can use this memoria to help manipulate the AI into attacking who you want through the use of high Defense Up. There are many better memoria to use, as listed above, that will allow you to keep a character safe without sacrificing offensive buffs, but this can do in a pinch if your account is lacking.

Bitter & Citrus
Obtainability:Â Limited to completing the âValentines Messageâ event.
MLB Effect:Â Damage Cut [15%] & Defense Up [15%]
Effect Definitions:
Damage Cut reduces the damage from incoming attacks onto the equipped character, and its effects are calculated after buffs/debuffs are considered. Damage Cut is generally better than Defense Up.
Defense Up increases the targetâs base defense stats. Defense Up is generally worse than Damage Cut.
TLDR:Â "Bitter & Citrusâ is going to be more useful for new players and/or Free-to-Play players as there are other memoria in the game that are better. For everyone else, it belongs in the Memo Vault Jail.
Review: âBitter & Citrusâ is a defensive memoria. It has the same effects and percentages as the following memoria:Â
(Limited Welfare 4*) âAI Want to Meet Youâ Defense Up [15%] & Damage Cut [15%]
When comparing the two, âAI Want to Meet Youâ has slightly better ATK stats and "Bitter & Citrusâ has slightly better HP stats. However this difference is largely minimal. The review is going to be copy +pasted because this reviewer is as energetic as the devs are creative when it comes to making new effects for event welfare memoria apparently.
âBitter & Citrusâ is a worse version of the unlimited memoria âThe Power to Protect Who You Love,â but itâs by no means bad. After all, âBitter & Citrusâ comes fully awakened and leveled, making it good for Free-to-Play players who may not have a lot of defensive memoria.
The Defense Up and Damage Cut synergize very well. Having both Damage Cut and Defense Up is useful against fights against enemies with Defense Pierce or Ignore Damage Cut, as they rarely have both on them at the same time, and this allows you to fully protect a character. âBitter & Citrusâ will be especially useful for tanks (and maybe supports / heals) who really need that extra protection.
You can compare this memoria to other extra defensive memoria such as:
(Limited Gacha 4*) âJumping for Temperingâ Defense Up [30%] & Regenerate HP [4%] & Defense Up While At Max Health [50%]
(4*) âHand-Waving Happinessâ Defense Up [45%] & Status Ailment Resistance Up [35%]
(Limited Welfare 4*) âThe Great Escapeâ Defense Up [37.5%] & Anti-Charm [100%] & Anti-Poison [100%]
(Limited Mirrors 4*) âTransparent Feelings Reflected in the Mirrorâ Defense Up [30%] & Guardian [30%] & Damage Cut [15%]
(Limited Gacha 4*) âBeyond the Wavesâ Defense Up [30%] & MP Gain Up [10%] & Damage Cut [25%]
(Limited Gacha Welfare 4*) âIf You Want to Go to Sleep...â Defense Up [30%] & Status Ailment Resistance Up [30%]Â Â
(4*) âSlowly, But Steadilyâ Defense Up [30%] & Damage Cut [25%] & Attack Down [25%]
(4*) âThe Power to Protect Who You Loveâ Defense Up [30%] & Damage Cut [15%] & Defense Up When At Critical Health [40%]
(3*) âA Rough Welcome in the Sewersâ Defense Up [30%] & Anti-Stun [100%]
(3*) âThe Mao Family Is Lively Today As Wellâ Defense Up [30%] & Status Ailment Resistance Up [30%]
(Limited Gacha 4*) âThe Lively Roar of the Seaâ Damage Cut [30%] & MP Gain Up [12.5%]Â Â
(4*) âRest Deliciouslyâ Damage Cut [20%] & Defense Up While At Max Health [90%]
(Limited Welfare 4*) âAI Want to Meet Youâ Damage Cut [15%] & Defense Up [15%]
Just keep in mind that the game largely rewards and prioritizes offensive gameplay over defensive gameplay. You may be better off using a memoria that combines offensive and defensive elements such as âStars to Express Gratitudeâ or âEveryday Overflowing with Prideâ instead.
However for the new player or free-to-play player without a lot of memoria on hand, this can work in a pinch. Itâs possible this could see usage on Stall teams.
If youâre more established in the game, this memoria can rot in your Memo Vault Jail instead.

Eternal Darkness Party
Obtainability:Â Limited for the âDark Halloween is the Color of Loveâ event shop. This is a event bonus memoria and it should be kept in case of a rerun. Â
MLB Effect:Â Attack Down [35%] (All / 1 Turn)
Effect Definitions:
Attack Down is a Debuff that will decrease the targetâs base attack.
TLDR:Â âEternal Darkness Partyâ is good for Magia Stall Teams and for Free-to-Play players who donât have many memoria to use. However if you do have better memoria to field, this becomes Enhancement Fodder (or alternatively it belongs in the Memoria Vault Jail if you want to save it for the possibility of an event rerun).
Review:Â âEternal Darkness Partyâ is okay. There are many better memoria to use in the game, and its usage is diminished by how good your account is.Â
Attack Down is a good effect for Magia Stall teams (and to a lesser extent, so is Damage Down). At a percentage of 35% and with a relatively low cooldown at six turns, âEternal Darkness Partyâ should be helpful in debuffing the enemy, ensuring that troublesome bosses deal as little damage to you as possible. On a Magia Stall team, you can equip multiple Attack Down active memoria, allowing you to blanket the enemy in debuffs for as many turns in a row as you can. So if you plan on using Magia Stall strategies in situations such as the Hundred Evils, multiple memoria with Attack Down are a good thing to have.
Other Attack Down memoria include:
(Limited Gacha 4*) âEven Games Are Seriousâ Attack Down [65%] (One / 1 Turn) & Defense Up [52.5%] (Self / 1 Turn) Â
(Limited Gacha 4*) âThe True Gift Was the Smileâ Attack Down [65%] & Dazzle [100%] (One / 1 Turn)
(Limited Gacha 4*) âFor This Fine Dayâ Attack Down [50%] & Damage Down [45%] (One / 1 Turn)
(4*) âThe Way Home after the Rain (Mito)â Attack Down [50%] & Defense Down [45%] (All / 1 Turn)
(4*) âHiding the Real Meâ Attack Down [50%] (One / 1 Turn) & Skill Quicken [100%] (Self / 1 Turn)
(Limited Welfare 3*) âEternal Darkness Partyâ Attack Down [35%] (All / 1 Turn) Â
(Limited Gacha 3*) âWash Away The Pastâ Attack Down [35%] & Fog [100%] (One / 1 Turn) Â
(Limited Gacha 3*) âLight Attributed Charactersâ Attack Down [35%] & Dazzle [45%] (One / 1 turn)
(3*) âThe Way Home after the Rain (Leila)â Attack Down [35%] (One / 1 Turn) & Darkness [100%]
(4*) âAn Inhabitant from Another Worldâ Attack Down [30%] & Charm [42.5%] (All / 1 turn)
(Limited Gacha 3*) âKeep Promises in the Heartâ Attack Down [30%] & Defense Down [30%] (One / 1 Turn)
(Limited Welfare 3*) âA Place of Easeâ Attack Down [30%] (All / 1 Turn)
(2*) âBusy After Schoolâ Attack Down [30%] (One / 1 Turn)
This is a long list, even when editing it for what most players are likely to have. Still, itâs unlikely a player will have all of these, as several are limited and even the four-stars might be hard to grab considering how large the unlimited pool is these days. Additionally, free-to-play players, for whom the Magia Stall strategy is most useful for, are probably going to be lacking in memoria selection. Therefor while âEternal Darkness Partyâ isnât as good as several of these, itâs also still helpful when you donât have many on hand.
So... the usefulness of this memoria depends on what memoria you have and what teams youâre using. If you need to use a Magia Stall team, then this will be helpful. If you donât have a lot of Attack Down memoria, then this will be helpful.Â
Outside of that, you can chuck it into the Memoria Vault Jail in case the event is eventually rerun. Alternatively you can use it as Enhancement Fodder.

Shining Like the Setting Sun
Obtainability:Â Limited for the âSayonara Storageâ event shop. This is event bonus memoria and it should be kept in case of a rerun.
MLB Effect:Â Defense Down [10%] & Defense Down Further [15%] (One / 1 Turn)
Effect Definitions:
Defense Down decreases the targetâs base defense.
Defense Down Further is similar to Defense Down, as it decreases the targetâs base defense.
TLDR:Â âShining Like the Setting Sunâ is surprisingly helpful, particularly as it let you wipe out Anti-Debuff on the enemy team (especially concerning the 100 Evils).
Review:Â âShining Like the Setting Sunâ isnât a groundbreaking memoria, but itâs also not too bad for anyone new to the game or to some free-to-play players. It offers a collective total of 25% Defense Down towards an enemy target-- initially this might seem pretty mediocre considering a single copy of âThe Way Home after the Rain (Mito)â gives 40% Defense Down... to all targets, with a lower cooldown to boot.
However itâs never a bad thing to have multiple copies of Defense Down. Additionally, there is another benefit to âShining Like the Setting Sun:â the fact that it has two debuff effects instead of one means that you can use it to clear off pesky Anti-Debuff off of enemies.Â
Now, clearing off Anti-Debuff tends to be more important for Mirrors Ranking given that annoying units like Madoka & Iroha exist, who will give their entire team 2 stacks of Anti-Debuff from the start of the fight. âShining Like the Setting Sunâ has a cooldown that is slightly too long to be useful in Ranking for this purpose. However, Anti-Debuff can be found outside of Ranking too-- one notable example includes the recent horrifyingly difficult Anniversary 100 evils from Stardust Mirage. The last battle gave the entire team stacks of Anti-Debuff, making it difficult to Mito Rain away their Attack and Defense.
However, âShining Like the Setting Sunâ means you can use this memoria as Anti-Anti-Debuff fodder to wipe out two stacks of it, letting you use better and more powerful Debuff memoria afterwards.
One last thing important to note is that âShining Like the Setting Sunâ isnât actually the best memoria in the game for this-- no, it actually belongs to what was considered before a pretty pathetic and useless memoria:
(4*) âAn Uncrossable Gapâ Magia Damage Down [35%] & Accele MP Gain Down [27.5%] (All / 1 Turn)
This memoria has a low cooldown (good for Mirrors!) and will apply two debuffs to the entire enemy team, making it extremely useful.
That doesnât mean that âShining Like the Setting Sunâ is useless of course-- who knows what horrible team youâll be fighting in the future. If youâve unlucky enough that youâve never gotten a Mito Rain, then this memoria should be helpful with increasing your damage a little bit at least.
Overall a good memoria, especially for Free-to-Play.

Even Games Are Serious!
Obtainability:Â Limited gacha for the âRainbow Colored Summerâ event. This is event bonus memoria and it should be kept in case of a rerun.
Single Effect:Â Attack Down [60%] (One / 1 Turn) & Defense Up [45%] (Self / 1 Turn)
MLB Effect:Â Attack Down [65%] (One / 1 Turn) & Defense Up [52.5%] (Self / 1 Turn)
Effect Definitions:
Attack Down is a Debuff that will decrease the targetâs base attack.
Defense Up increases the targetâs base defense stats. Defense Up is generally worse than Damage Cut.
TLDR:Â âEven Games Are Seriousâ is an excellent memoria for Mirrors Ranking but itâs less useful for the casual player as it focuses on defensives and not damage. It should be helpful for difficult content like the Hundred Evils, Witchesâ Paradox, and the occasional Battle Museum (whenever it pops up again) but itâs not going to be helping you in Kimochi.
Review:Â âEven Games Are Seriousâ is very similar to another memoria in the game:
(Limited Gacha 4*) âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ Damage Down [50%] (One / 1 Turn) & Damage Cut [50%] (Self / 1 Turn)
Both memoria offer around the same amount of DEF stats at 2447-ish, qualifying them as stat sticks, both are very defensive memoria, and both give one way of decreasing the enemyâs damage while increasing the userâs defense.Â
All of this is only notable if youâre a whale. If youâre not, then you probably donât have either of them and even if you do, you probably donât have them both max-awakened. Even then, you might not need them for what theyâre perfectly designed for-- Ranked Mirrors.
But before we go into that, is âEven Games Are Seriousâ going to be useful outside of Whale strategies? Well, yes and no.
Good for Average Play?
Defensive memoria in this game arenât as good as offensive ones. Take a look at the review for âCall On the Alchemist Duoâ for more detail, but to summarize: youâre better off increasing your damage than you are protecting yourself from it. Most gameplay will encourage more damage over protection-- Kimochi is a prime example. Additionally, youâll probably be able to protect your characters always without needing to use defensive memoria just by playing naturally. For example, a Magia team will want to use a Madoka Kaname or a Madoka & Iroha who can heal and protect their teams through their connects and Magia/Doppels. If your natural gameplay will keep your characters safe, then why bother equip defensives like this?
Magia Stall Strategies-- thatâs one answer. If your units are lacking, then you might rely on Magia Stall strategies to bring down your enemies, particularly in long battles like the Hundred Evils. Iâve written a guide on how it works here, but âEven Games Are Seriousâ is a great memoria to bring for it. Even as a single copy it has a low cooldown and high effect percentages.
In fact, unless youâre a mega whale, you might want to consider keeping this memoria sperate and not using up each copy to max awaken it. Thatâs because youâll be able to blanket the enemy with debuffs, one for each turn, by equipping as many single copies on your characters as possible.
Outside of the Hundred Evils, this memoria might be useful for difficult content like the Witchesâ Paradox or the Battle Museum. It can give you more time to prepare. Just keep in mind that youâre sacrificing an active memoria slot to use it. It may be more beneficial sometimes to go for extra damage (or for more mp gain) to end a fight faster over prolonging it.
But with all of that said, letâs bring it back to why Whales might want this, and why itâs good for Ranking.
Whales and Ranking
For Mirrors Ranking, you need this one max-awakened. The biggest reason is that it functions as a stat stick. Stat Sticks are Active memoria that beef up a characterâs passive DEF through its stats, not its effects. These kind of memoria are helpful in Mirrors, where some Actives serve little more than, well, âstat sticks.â This blog considers anything about 2200 DEF a Stat Stick. Note that the memoria needs to be Max Awakened to qualify as a Stat Stick. That last part is the most important issue here-- itâs all well and good if you have this as a single copy, but a single copy isnât going to have stat stick stats, itâs going to have a piddly 750 or something like that.Â
Next you want this memoria to be max awakened so that the cooldown is lowered from six to five. This means you can use it as soon as possible in mirrors, aka by turn three or even earlier depending on if you have Skill Quicken on a character or not. This is important not only because this is a protective memoria (more on that in a moment) but because the more active skills you use in Mirrors Ranking, the better. There is one additional reason (to get rid of anti-debuff shields) but letâs address that a little bit later.
Now letâs take a look at what the memoria actually does in terms of its effects:
Attack Down [65%] (One / 1 Turn)Â
Defense Up [52.5%] (Self / 1 Turn)
Letâs address the Attack Down first. Attack Down at 65% is kind of stupidly overpowered and it should definitely protect your characters from danger. Of course, the problem here is that the Attack Down also only targets one enemy. Youâll have no idea who in the lineup will get discs or not, so using it might seem like a gamble... maybe.
It also might be easy to predict who will attack next and who wonât. Enemy teams might be built around one damage dealer and a bunch of supports, all of which serve to inflate the playerâs score before their primary attacker deals the final blows. If your enemies are generic supports and then one powerful Kyoko Sakura (Doppel ver.), you know who youâll need to use this memoria on eventually. Additionally, anyone who gains Magia quickly through Regenerate MP as part of their Spirit Enhancement is going to be a problem. Two particularly dangerous enemies include:
Kyoko Sakura (Doppel ver.)
Kuroe (Swimsuit ver.)
These units have the potential to hit Magia by round two, or in some horrifying cases, round one. You might not be able to prevent their magia/kill them right away, but this memoria means you can at last try and protect your team. One very important thing to note about Mirrors Ranking is that you score better when your teamâs HP is healthy and high. Preventing damage is very important for this reason.
The last thing to consider for Attack Down is that itâs a debuff, and every debuff you throw at the enemy can cut into their Anti-Debuff shields. With units like Madoka & Iroha, Ashley, or Little Kyubey, you might be facing an enemy that a few Anti-Debuff shields on them, preventing you from using other effects like Defense Down instead.
If you have multiple Debuff memoria equipped, you can âsacrificeâ some active debuffs to prioritize other ones instead. Do you want that pesky Madoka & Iroha to take increased damage, but they have three Anti-Debuff shields on them? Use this memoria and âAn Uncrossable Gapâ (which gives Accele MP Gain Down and Magia Damage Down, both debuffs) to get rid of that Shield, then use a helpful âThe Way Home after the Rain (Mito)â to lower the enemyâs defense!Â
Next, letâs take a look at that Defense Up. One important thing to note about Defense Up is that itâs generally not as good as Damage Cut. I donât have exact numbers on how much equals what, but just keep in mind that Damage Cut gives more bang for its buck. However, thatâs not the only thing to know about it-- Damage Cut and Defense Up have interesting interactions in Mirrors.
The Mirrors AI will always prioritize the target with the lowest Defense (along with whatever is its weak element). Defense Up will contribute to the AIâs calculations, but Damage Cut will not.
This means that you can manipulate who the AI attacks by keeping Defense low on some characters (by providing them less DEF stats and not giving them Defense Up) while still protecting them through Damage Cut. The opposite is true too-- you can keep the AI from attacking a character by giving that character high defense through DEF stats and Defense Up buffs.
Thatâs where this memoria comes in. This memoria has a high amount of Defense Up, meaning that for one turn, you can make one unit very unattractive to hit. Of course, by the time you actually use this memoria, it might be too late in the game and youâre close to finishing up with a Magia or Doppel, but who knows.Â
Of course, you can still use this on a character who you want to take aggro. You might activate this on a Sudachi at the same time you use Provoke on her just to keep her extra safe-- there will be some overlap because her Spirit Enhancement Active combined with âEven Games Are Seriousâ should push you over the 100% cap ceiling for Defense Up, but at least your Sudachi should be protected utmost. Just make sure the enemy doesnât have some form of Anti-Provoke to ruin your plans with.
Devil Homura Memoria versus Swimsuit Madoka Memoria
At the beginning I mentioned that âEven Games Are Seriousâ is similar to another limited memoria:
(Limited Gacha 4*) âEven Games Are Seriousâ Attack Down [65%] (One / 1 Turn) & Defense Up [52.5%] (Self / 1 Turn) Â
(Limited Gacha 4*) âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ Damage Down [50%] (One / 1 Turn) & Damage Cut [50%] (Self / 1 Turn)
âEven Games Are Seriousâ has Attack Down and Defense Up, while âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ has Damage Down and Damage Cut.
Damage Down is less efficient than Attack Down, but Damage Cut is more powerful than Attack Up, and as mentioned, you can use Damage Cut to manipulate the AI into thinking a unitâs defense is lower than it actually is.
When comparing the two memoria, âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ is better on units that want to feign having less defense than they actually do while âEven Games Are Seriousâ is better for units that want to bluff a little and fend off an enemy attack. Just keep in mind that âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ still has a lot of passive DEF so itâs actually possible to use this to increase a unitâs defense and make them less attractive to the enemy AI too. In fact, as of writing this review, both memoria have the highest DEF stats in the game:
Itâs possible that some Hyper-whales might equip both âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ and âEven Games Are Seriousâ on a unit to inflate their defensive stats as much as possible!
Conclusion
However, everything I just said is more important for a Hyper-Whale than it is a regular player. If youâre a Hyper-Whale, you donât need me to tell you this stuff-- youâre probably already tuned in to Japanese forums that are discussing this in even higher detail. But if youâre an average player, hopefully this review helps explain why this memoria is both very useful and not useful at all.Â
For the common player, this will be helpful in some of the harder challenges, especially if you donât have great units. If you rolled for Swimsuit Madoka and managed to get five copies of this memoria, youâll have a touch choice-- keep them separate in order to keep an enemy from dealing out as much damage as possible, or take advantage of the high DEF stats you can gain from it? Itâs a difficult choice and one only you can make for yourself.
Overall this is a good Whale-tier memoria, but casuals shouldnât feel the need to roll for it.

Currently on a Hostile Inspection
MLB Effect:Â Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Attack Up [15%]
Effect Definitions:
Accele MP Gain Up will increase the amount of MP gained by using Accele discs.
Attack Up increases the equipped characterâs base stats, meaning that its effects are calculated before buffs/debuffs are considered. The effect caps at 100%.
TLDR: âCurrently on a Hostile Inspectionâ is a good freebie memoria for budget Magia teams. Itâs best used on characters who have two or more Accele disks.
This memoria is exclusive to the âPassion is Sharp, Love is Roundedâ event shop. This is event memoria and it should be kept in case of a rerun.
Review: âCurrently on a Hostile Inspectionâ is a decent event shop memoria that should serve Free-to-Play players well on low-budget Magia teams.
Interestingly enough, this memoria is the same as two other Event Shop memoria:
(Limited 3*) âNever Allow Will to Be Erasedâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Attack Up [15%]
(Limited 3*) âSomething to Rememberâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Attack Up [15%]
âNever Allow Will to Be Erasedâ and âCurrently on a Hostile Inspectionâ both have the same amount of ATK stats while âSomething to Rememberâ has less. Otherwise, all three are pretty decent and should be good options for Accele MP Gain Up memoria if you donât have any four-star options to choose from.
Otherwise, âCurrently on a Hostile Inspectionâ is going to be good for Magia teams and on characters that will be using Accele disks. Its two effects synergize well, as Attack Up wonât just increase the damage attacks do, but also the damage a Doppel or Magia will do as well.Â
If youâre looking for something better to equip, consider the following memoria:
(Limited 4*) âIroha of the Midsummer Beachâ MP Gain Up [12.5%] & Attack Up [20%]
(Limited 4*) âTonight We Shall Have a Banquetâ MP Gain Up [12.5%] & Damage Increase [20%]
(Limited 4*) âThe Rena I Hateâ MP Gain Up [10%] & Â Attack Up [20%] & Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%]
(Limited 4*) âYou Can Wear Any Outfit You Wantâ MP Gain Up [10%] & Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Defense Up [30%]
(Limited 4*) âWaiting for the Momentâ Accele MP Gain Up [20%] & Damage Increase [20%]
(Limited 4*) âThe Third Magical Girlâ Accele MP Gain Up [20%] & Charged Attack Damage Up [15%]
(Limited 4*) âAlways Thinking of Youâ Accele MP Gain Up [20%] & Burn on Attack [30%] (2 Turns)
(Limited 4*) âGoodbye Fableâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Magia Damage Up [15%]
(4*) âBecause the World Is Full of Wishesâ Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Status Ailment Resistance Up [30%]
(Limited 4*) âStill Far From a Starry Night...â Accele MP Gain Up [15%] & Attack Up [25%]
(4*) âDeep in Thoughtâ Accele MP Gain Up [15%] & Damage Up [15%] & MP Gain Up [10%]
But overall, âCurrently on a Hostile Inspectionâ is a pretty good freebie memoria and a great addition to any budget Magia team.

MLB Effect:Â Defense Down [10%] & Defense Down Further [15%] (One / 1 Turn)
Effect Definitions:

Defense Down Further is similar to Defense Down, as it decreases the targetâs base defense. Â
TLDR:Â âThe Me I Might Have Beenâ is surprisingly helpful, particularly as it let you wipe out Anti-Debuff on the enemy team (especially concerning the 100 Evils).
Review:Â âThe Me I Might Have Beenâ is nearly identical to the memoria âShining Like the Setting Sun.â Because this reviewer is lazy, this review will be copy + pasted.
âThe Me I Might Have Beenâ isnât a groundbreaking memoria, but itâs also not too bad for anyone new to the game or to some free-to-play players.
Additionally, there is another benefit to âThe Me I Might Have Been:â the fact that it has two debuff effects instead of one means that you can use it to clear off pesky Anti-Debuff off of enemies.
Now, clearing off Anti-Debuff tends to be more important for Mirrors Ranking given that annoying units like Madoka & Iroha exist, who will give their entire team 2 stacks of Anti-Debuff from the start of the fight. âThe Me I Might Have Beenâ has a cooldown that is slightly too long to be useful in Ranking for this purpose.
However, âThe Me I Might Have Beenâ means you can use this memoria as Anti-Anti-Debuff fodder to wipe out two stacks of it, letting you use better and more powerful Debuff memoria afterwards.
One last thing important to note is that âThe Me I Might Have Beenâ isnât actually the best memoria in the game for wiping away Anti-Debuff-- no, it actually belongs to what was considered before a pretty pathetic and useless memoria:
(4*) âAn Uncrossable Gapâ Magia Damage Down [35%] & Accele MP Gain Down [27.5%] (All / 1 Turn)
This memoria has a low cooldown (good for Mirrors!) and will apply two debuffs to the entire enemy team, making it extremely useful.
That doesnât mean that âThe Me I Might Have Beenâ is useless of course-- who knows what horrible team youâll be fighting in the future. If youâve unlucky enough that youâve never gotten a Mito Rain, then this memoria should be helpful with increasing your damage a little bit at least.
Overall a good memoria, especially for Free-to-Play.

Chill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescue
Single Effect: Damage Cut [40%] (Self / 1 Turn) & Damage Down [40%] (One / 1 Turn)
MLB Effect: Damage Cut [50%] (Self / 1 Turn) & Damage Down [50%] (One / 1 Turn)
Effect Definitions:
Damage Cut reduces the damage from incoming attacks onto the equipped character, and its effects are calculated after buffs/debuffs are considered.
Damage Down will decrease the targetâs damage on attacks.
TLDR: âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ is good for Ranked Mirrors thanks to its high Damage Cut percentage, its high DEF stats, and low cooldown. Outside of that specific situation it is much less useful. This memoria is exclusive to âKamihama Beach Spa Adventure: The Demonâs Grudge Whirlpooling at the Beachâ event gacha. This is event memoria and should be kept in case of a rerun.
Review: âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ suffers from similar problems to the memoria âCall On the Alchemist Duo.â Itâs a limited defensive memoria in a meta where defensive gameplay isnât rewarded as much as offensive gameplay. However, unlike âCall On the Alchemist Duo,â âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ does have a few things going for it that donât make it quite as âbadâ as âCall On the Alchemist Duoâ can seem. This ranges from its excellent passive DEF stats, making it a Stat Stick, to itâs possible uses in Ranked Mirrors. Additionally, it will be useful for Magia Stall teams, even if itâs not max awakened.
Right away, âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ fills a niche that did need to be filled-- a one-turn high Damage Cut active. You might be surprised to know that the highest Damage Cut percentage a player could get (if they werenât around during the first Ultimate Madokaâs release) would be an unlimited three-star memoria:
(Limited 4*) âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ Damage Cut [50%] (Self / 1 Turn) & Damage Down [50%] (One / 1 Turn)
(Limited 4*) âThe Goddess Stares Quietlyâ Damage Cut [40%] & Regenerate HP [5%] (Self / 1 Turn)
(3*) âSplash Party!â Damage Cut [35%] & Damage Increase [40%] (Self / 1 Turn)
(2*) âHeart-Melting Pillowâ Damage Cut [30%] (Self / 1 Turn)
(4*) âPast and Futureâ Damage Cut [25%] & Damage Increase [30%] (Self / 3 Turns)
(4*) âThe One and Only Contradictionâ Damage Cut [25%] & Critical Hit [30%] (Self / 3 Turns)
(Limited 4*) âCall On the Alchemist Duo!â Damage Cut [20%] & Defense Up [30%] (Self / 3 Turns)
(Limited 4*) âThe Loving Heart that Wields the Brushâ Damage Cut [20%] & Damage Increase [25%] (Self / 3 turns)
(Limited 4*) âMiracle Reportersâ Damage Cut [20%] & Damage Increase [25%] (Self / 3 Turns)
(Limited 4*) âWith MagiReco MI-Card!â Damage Cut [20%] & Status Ailment Resistance Up [25%] (Self / 3 Turns)
(4*) âFor My Treasured Onesâ Damage Cut [20%] & Regenerate HP [5%] (Self / 3 Turns)
(3*) âA Symbol of Acquaintanceâ Damage Cut [10%] & Regenerate HP [3%] (Self / 3 turns)
Even when not max awakened, âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ will still beat out the competition with its 40% Damage Cut. Another important thing to note here is the low cooldown at 5 turns-- this makes it good for Ranked Mirrors.
In fact, itâs hard to discuss this memoria without addressing the elephant in the room-- the star of the banner gacha that this memoria comes from, Akuma Homura-chan. Sheâs hyper specialized for Ranked Mirrors by way of being extremely defensive-- this goes from her active (which makes the opposing team deal less damage and generate less MP), to her discs, to her Spirit Enhancement. What is especially notable about her Spirit Enhancement is that she has a passive Skill Quicken on start. For PVE purposes this is pretty useless, but in Mirrors, this means that memoria you can use on turn three can now be used on turn two... which includes âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ (when itâs max awakened).Â
So itâs hard not to look at âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ and see it as an extension of Akuma Homura-chanâs kit, letting her even further protect her team from damage and also herself. Damage Cut is especially important in Mirrors due to how it interacts with the AI, letting it believe its killed a character when it hasnât. Many of the best defensive memoria considered for Ranked Mirrors will prioritize Damage Cut over Defense Up for a reason. Of course, this wonât just be useful on Akuma Homura-chan-- another character who can use active memoria by turn two would be Valentines Nagisa-- but since this is Akuma Homura-chanâs gacha banner, it feels important to include.
I mentioned that this is a Stat Stick above as well, which further adds to the defensiveness of this memoria. Stat Sticks are Active memoria that beef up a characterâs passive DEF its stats, not its effects. These kind of memoria are helpful in Mirrors, where some Actives serve little more than, well, âstat sticks.â This blog considers anything about 2200 DEF a Stat Stick. Note that the memoria needs to be Max Awakened to qualify as a Stat Stick.
So far, this seems like a beast for Ranked Mirrors, where you gain points for keeping characters health as high as possible and drawing out fights just enough to get to Magia and Doppel (but not so long that you start to lose points). The one issue that âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ has is its Damage Down effect.
In general, Damage Down is not as good as Attack Down. Itâs not the worst effect in the world, but thereâs a reason that âThe Way Home after the Rain (Mito)â is considered more defensive than âReliable Negotiator.â
When it comes to Damage Down, âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ does beat out the competition just like it does for Damage Cut:
(Limited 4*) âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ Damage Down [50%] (One / 1 Turn) & Damage Cut [50%] (Self / 1 Turn)
(Limited 4*) âFor This Fine Dayâ Damage Down [45%] & Attack Down [50%] (One / 1 Turn)
(4*) âReliable Negotiatorâ Damage Down [45%] (All / 1 Turn) & Status Ailment Resistance Up [55%] (Self / 1 Turn)
(3*) âLet's Eat Togetherâ Damage Down [40%] (All / 1 Turn)
(Limited 4*) âNow After Having Fun Playing...â Damage Down [35%] (One / 3 Turns) & Defense Up [30%] (Self / 3 Turns)
(2*) âLovely Akira Roomâ Damage Down [30%] (One / 1 Turn)
(Limited 3*) âOverlapping Strategiesâ Damage Down [10%] & Attack Down [10%] (One / 3 Turns)
(Limited 3*) âPassing Dreamsâ Damage Down [10%] & Attack Down [10%] (One / 3 Turns)
However, most players will still prefer memoria like the unlimited four-star âReliable Negotiator.â The difference between the two memoria when max awakened is only 5%, and âReliable Negotiatorâ has the benefit of effecting all targets and not just one. Additionally, âReliable Negotiatorâ also has a low cooldown at 5 when max awakened, making the the same as âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescue.â Lastly, âReliable Negotiatorâ also has the stats to qualify as a Stat Stick.
And while weâre mentioning memoria that can fill a similar niche, we need to go back to âThe Way Home after the Rain (Mito).â Itâs just like âReliable Negotiatorâ in that: it has a 5 turn cooldown, it is a defensive (but also offensive!) memoria, and it has good enough DEF stats to qualify as a Stat Stick. And just like âReliable Negotiator,â itâs also unlimited.
So where does that leave us?
âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ is going to be excellent when max awakened for Ranked Mirrors, especially on characters like Akuma Homura-chan who have a way to use active memoria on turn two. However, unless youâre a hyper-whale who wants the best of the best when it comes to memoria, itâs not necessary to own. Memoria like âThe Way Home after the Rain (Mito)â and âReliable Negotiatorâ can fill the same role that âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ can-- theyâre not exactly the same, but theyâre good enough for most players.
In addition, those two above memoria will also be better for Stall teams because they effect all the enemies at once instead of only one, they should be easier to acquire thanks to their unlimited status, and you have more freedom regarding who to equip them on (this is because whoever uses âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ really wants to benefit from that Damage Cut to make sure itâs not a waste).
However, like I mentioned all the way at the beginning, this still isnât a bad memoria.Â
Most of the benefits from âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ are when its max awakened, as thatâs when it has enough stats to be a stat stick, thatâs when it has the 5-turn cooldown, and thatâs when it has the 50% of each effectâs percentage. However, if youâre not planning on using this in Ranked Mirrors, then a single copy is perfectly acceptable.
This isnât going to be an amazing memoria for most content because most content prefers offensive memoria to defensive-- but for Magia Stall teams, this is a boon. You can use it alongside the aforementioned âThe Way Home after the Rain (Mito)â and âReliable Negotiatorâ to layer debuffs on the enemies, ensuring that you keep your team healthy and safe long enough to generate MP to wipe the floor of anyone who stands against you. Even a 6-turn cooldown is still good, and using âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ on a unit who has passive Skill Quicken in their Spirit Enhancement is a good idea to make sure you can apply the debuffs as much as possible.
So overall, this a very specialized niche memoria that is going to be excellent for Ranked Mirrors, but suffers in most PVE play. For PVE itâs outclassed by several memoria in the game, but it can still be useful even if you only have it at one copy. Itâs not necessary to own, but itâs not bad to have on you either.
This isnât a good choice for Support, as itâs defensive and not offensive.
âChill With the Devil While Waiting for Rescueâ occupies the Whale Tier category, but keep in mind thatâs only for very specific circumstances and most players wonât need it.

The Lively Roar of the Sea
Obtainability:Â Limited gacha for the âRainbow Colored Summerâ event. This is event bonus memoria and it should be kept in case of a rerun.
Single Effect:Â Damage Cut [25%] & MP Gain Up [10%]
MLB Effect:Â Damage Cut [30%] & MP Gain Up [12.5%]
Effect Definitions:
Damage Cut reduces the damage from incoming attacks onto the equipped character, and its effects are calculated after buffs/debuffs are considered. Damage Cut is generally better than Defense Up.
MP Gain Up will increase the MP gained from all sources, including Accele Discs, Charge Discs, damage taken by the equipped character, and when they activate an ability that gives them MP Restore or Regenerate MP.
TLDR:Â âThe Lively Roar of the Seaâ is an excellent whale-bait memoria that is specialized for a specific Mirrors Ranking strategy while still being useful in the game in other situations. Itâs not necessary to roll for if you arenât going to be using that specific Ranking strategy, but itâs also still a good memoria to have, as MP Gain Up memoria can be hard to aquire.
Review:Â âThe Lively Roar of the Seaâ is a good memoria that combines an excellent defensive buff with the perfect MP-building effect. Itâs probably the best memoria to use for Magia-tanks in Mirrors Ranking right now. Letâs explore why.
Almost all MP Gain Up memoria are good memoria. This is because MP Gain Up can be hard to find for either actives or passives (Accele MP Gain Up is much easier to acquire), and because MP Gain Up will apply to all sources of potential MP (except for Blast MP Gain Up for some reason). This includes using Accele discs, Charge discs, Regenerate MP, and more importantly for this memoria: getting hit by an attack.Â
Thatâs not to say that this memoria is better than other memoria when it comes to building up MP. A memoria like âThe Rena I Hateâ has 10% MP Gain Up and 17.5% Accele MP Gain Up for comparison, and much better MP-building capability if the character uses Accele discs. However, what makes âThe Lively Roar of the Seaâ so useful is that the MP Gain Up effect is crucial for strategies using characters with the following effect in their Spirit Enhancement: MP Up When Damaged.
On a character like Sudachi Sawa, equipping this memoria means that she can get to Magia/Doppel by turn two in Mirrors Ranking without ever using a single disc-- she just needs to take every hit from the enemy. You can ensure this by either using her turn one Provoke or alternatively, by keeping her DEF lower than her teammates. This is because Mirrors AI will prioritize attacking the character with the lowest DEF first.
Of course, keeping a characterâs DEF low seems like a bad idea if theyâre going to be tanking every enemy attack. Thatâs where the Damage Cut on this memoria comes in. The Mirrors AI does not consider Damage Cut when it weighs the DEF of each character, so you can stack as much Damage Cut on your Sudachi as you want without making her DEF higher, thereby protecting her and making her an appealing target for the AI to target first. Additionally, Damage Cut is a more effective buff than Defense Up, so that makes this memoria extra beefy when it comes to protecting your character.
This is notable because you can compare âThe Lively Roar of the Seaâ to another limited summer memoria in the game:
(Limited 4*) âBeyond the Wavesâ MP Gain Up [10%] & Damage Cut [25%] & Defense Up [30%]
âBeyond the Wavesâ has less MP Gain Up, less Damage Cut (by 5%) and it includes Defense Up (an effect which will contribute to a characterâs DEF). To be perfectly clear, âBeyond the Wavesâ is not a bad memoria by any means-- in some ways itâs more defensive than âThe Lively Roar of the Seaâ is, because the 30% Defense Up outweighs the -5% Damage Cut. If you already have a max-awakened copy of âBeyond the Waves,â you donât need to get a max-awakened copy of âThe Lively Roar of the Seaâ unless youâre a hyper-whale.
Itâs just that âBeyond the Wavesâ is not as perfect as âThe Lively Roar of the Seaâ for a specific strategy using specific characters in Mirrors Ranking.
However, that doesnât mean that âThe Lively Roar of the Seaâ is too specialized to use elsewhere. It might not have any offensive buffs, but it does have excellent passive ATK stats and a max-awakened copy of this memoria will be better to use than the unlimited three-star memoria âIt's Not Like I Was Waiting.â And like I said at the beginning of this review, passive MP Gain Up memoria can be hard to find.Â
(Limited 4*) âThe Lively Roar of the Seaâ MP Gain Up [12.5%] & Damage Cut [30%]
(Limited 4*) âTonight We Shall Have a Banquetâ MP Gain Up [12.5%] & Damage Increase [20%]
(Limited 4*) âIroha of the Midsummer Beachâ MP Gain Up [12.5%] & Attack Up [20%]
(Limited 3*) âIs It Such a Dramatic Tasteâ MP Gain Up [12.5%] & MP Up When Attacked By Weak Element [3 MP]
(3*) âIt's Not Like I Was Waitingâ MP Gain Up [12.5%]
(Limited 4*) âThe Rena I Hateâ MP Gain Up [10%] & Â Attack Up [20%] & Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%]
(Limited 4*) âYou Can Wear Any Outfit You Wantâ MP Gain Up [10%] & Accele MP Gain Up [17.5%] & Defense Up [30%]
(Limited 4*) âBeyond the Wavesâ MP Gain Up [10%] & Damage Cut [25%] & Defense Up [30%]
(4*) âDeep in Thoughtâ MP Gain Up [10%] & Accele MP Gain Up [15%] & Damage Up [15%]
(Limited 3*) âDive into Summer (Touka/Nemu)â MP Gain Up [10%] & Defense Up [22.5%]
(3*) âFirst Time Make Upâ MP Gain Up [10%] & Damage Cut [15%]
Your only unlimited options are âIt's Not Like I Was Waitingâ and âFirst Time Make Up,â neither of which have an offensive buff attached to them either. So if you were lucky enough to roll for âThe Lively Roar of the Sea,â you should absolutely use it!
Overall this is a very good memoria that is both specialized for a specific part of the game while also still useful for more generic play.Â
Characters like Sudachi Sawa, Perenelle Flamel, and Sayaka Miki (Surfing ver.) will all benefit from using âThe Lively Roar of the Seaâ if youâre intending them to tank hits and use Magia/Doppels. However, it will also be useful on anyone who benefits from the effect MP Gain Up-- this includes characters with the effect Regenerate MP, such as Kuroe (Swimsuit ver.), Isabeau, Final Oriko, and/or Madoka & Iroha.Â
